The trouble with most systems available today is they look at past results and try to predict the games using historical data. But as every investing ad on TV tells us past performance is no indication of future results.

The simulator is apparently updated after every game is completed it is a living breathing tool. It is not just based on what happened in previous seasons. So how does this simulator actually work?

Well it uses data inputs, or stats. The mathematicians create smart algorithms that crunch the statistics for over 40 metrics to create the model behind the picks. There are 8 Quindecillion possibilities or combinations, that is 8 with 48 zeros behind it - 8 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 I think.

The algos try to come up with intelligent combinations to predict rather than attempting to go through all the combos, on how the games are going to platy out. It is the ultimate in machine learning, that means the simulator can be taught to understand patterns in the data.

The idea is that as the season progresses the Sports Analytics simulator actually gets smarter...

So what do you think, have you tried it and does it work?
